AML/KYC Policy

The W-BOX service strictly adheres to international and national regulations aimed at preventing the legalization (laundering) of proceeds obtained through criminal activities and the financing of terrorism (AML/CTF). The company ensures full compliance with applicable legislation and takes all necessary measures to prevent the use of its services for unlawful purposes.

The foundation of these measures was established over 30 years ago with the creation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), whose recommendations are continuously updated and refined.

Prohibited Actions and Warnings

W-BOX strongly warns Users against any attempts to use the service for:

◉ legalization of funds obtained through criminal activities;

◉ financing of terrorist activities;

◉ carrying out fraudulent operations of any kind;

◉ purchasing prohibited goods and services.

Transfers to third parties are strongly discouraged and violate the Service policy.

Requirements for User Operations

To prevent illegal activities, the Service establishes the following mandatory rules:

◉ The sender and the recipient of funds within a Request must be the same person;

◉ the use of anonymous proxy servers or any other methods of identity concealment is prohibited;

◉ all contact and personal information provided by the User must be accurate and up to date.

W-BOX reserves the right to transfer User-provided information in the following cases:

◉ upon official request from law enforcement authorities;

◉ by court decision;

◉ upon request from payment system administrations.

Transaction Monitoring and AML Checks

All transactions processed through the service undergo mandatory automated AML checks using risk analysis systems.

◉ analysis of the source of funds and behavioral factors;

◉ identification of connections with sanctioned or high-risk sources;

◉ detection of potential fraudulent activity indicators.

If an elevated risk level is detected, the transaction may be temporarily suspended until additional verification is completed.

Before creating a request, the User may independently check an address for compliance with AML requirements using the service tool AML-checker.

KYC/AML Procedures

In standard cases, KYC verification is not required.

Additional verification may be initiated only when necessary and in rare cases — for example, if a transaction is assigned an elevated risk level based on AML analysis or if clarification of the source of funds is required.

As part of the verification process, the Service may request:

◉ an identity document (passport, ID card, driver’s license);

◉ a photo or selfie with the document and a sheet of paper showing the current date and signature;

◉ information regarding the source of funds;

◉ additional materials related to the transaction, including screenshots, transaction history, blockchain explorer links, or other supporting evidence.

If the User refuses to provide the requested data or fails to respond, the execution of the request may be suspended until the review is completed or a decision on a refund is made.

If an elevated risk is detected, the request will be temporarily suspended until the AML verification is completed.

Risk Levels and Transaction Processing

Each transaction undergoes AML analysis and is assigned a risk level based on the results.

◉ up to 25% — processed in standard mode;

◉ 25% – 50% — additional verification may be required;

◉ 50% – 75% — the transaction may be temporarily suspended;

◉ 75% and above — the transaction is rejected with a subsequent refund.

High-Risk Categories

The presence of tags related to the following categories constitutes grounds for refusal to process the transaction and for initiating a refund.

Even at minimal risk levels (including values ≥ 10% and below), funds cannot be credited and must be returned to the sender.

Sanctions / High-Risk Jurisdiction, Terrorism Financing, Dark Market / Darknet Marketplace, Dark Service / Illegal Service, Ransomware / Malware, Mixer / Mixin, Stolen Funds / Stolen Coins, Scam / Fraud, Fraudulent Exchange, Illicit Actor / Organization, Child Abuse, Gambling, Protocol Privacy, Bridge, Decentralized Exchange (DEX)

Actions in Case of Suspicion of Violation

If signs of elevated risk or potential violations are detected, W-BOX reserves the right to:

◉ temporarily suspend the execution of the Request;

◉ initiate additional AML verification;

◉ in rare cases, request documents and information within the KYC/SoF framework;

◉ refuse to process the transaction with a subsequent refund of funds.

Refund Policy

If a transaction cannot be completed as a result of AML verification, the funds will be returned to the sender.

Funds are returned in full (only the network fee is charged), with no additional fees deducted by the service.

The refund process is initiated without unreasonable delays after a decision is made, and funds are typically returned to the User within 24 hours.

If the User does not respond or fails to provide the requested information, the refund process may take longer and, as a rule, may be completed within up to 7–10 business days.
