Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, has unveiled plans to launch a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform. The stablecoin issuer aims to introduce it by the end of March 2025. The new initiative, Tether Data, will inсlude applications such as AI Translate, AI Voice Assistant, and AI Bitcoin Wallet Assistant. According to Ardoino, the platform will run on Bare — a JavaScript runtime environment developed by Holepunch, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices, from embedded systems and budget smartphones to high-performance laptops and server clusters. A key component of the platform will be the open-source AI SDK Tether, which is also built on Bare. It is designed to function seamlessly across all types of devices. Tether Data applications will prioritize local execution, guaranteeing full privacy and independent control over both user data and finances. The company’s AI ambitions first emerged in 2023 when it acquired a stake in Northern Data, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and cloud computing. In December of the same year, Ardoino announced that the project’s website for Tether’s AI platform had already been developed.
